At no additional cost to students and families of the Aleutians East Borough, the Aleutians East Borough School District has created a way for students to connect with their teachers and receive schoolwork; all without leaving their homes or connecting to the internet.
In accordance with the State and Federal guidelines for SMART START, the school district will be opening this fall. Amid uncertainty concerning schools reopening, this system provides the opportunity for students to immediately social distance should the situation surrounding COVID-19 worsen.
Some families will be provided with wireless access points to make this possible, all that will be required of them will be to have the access points connected to power.

Finishing off day one of the 1A Aleutian Chain Girls Regionals with another great game from your Sand Point Lady Eagles. Trailing early, Sand Point tries hard to fight back on the back foot; unfortunately the lead for the Tanalian Lynx continued to grow right up until the end of the game. This ends the Sand Point Lady Eagles’ tournament run, and their 2020 season. Let’s hear it for your Sand Point Lady Eagles!
Final Score: Sand Point Lady Eagles (39) Vs. Port Alsworth Tanalian Lynx (63) – Girls
Kicking off the 1A Aleutian Chain Girls Regionals with a nail bitter of a game where Sand Point trailed by the smallest of margins against the Manokotak Lady Lynx for the vast majority of the game and set the tone for a very exciting tournament. Unfortunately the Lady Eagles were unable to close the gap and, after running into some foul trouble, were unable to come away with a victory at the beginning of this tournament. The Sand Point Lady Eagles will continue their tournament run later this evening with a match from the loser’s bracket.
Final Score: Sand Point Lady Eagles (39) Vs. Manokotak Lady Lynx (43) – Girls
Final Score: Sand Point Eagles (53) Vs. King Cove T-Jacks (40)
Sand Point snags another methodical win against rivals King Cove to finish off this set and their regular season. Maintaining the narrowest of leads in just one point throughout the first quarter, they came into their own at the start of the second to gain and hold their lead all the way to the finish.
Final Score: Sand Point Eagles (67) Vs. King Cove T-Jacks (33)
PARTIAL GAME: Due to conflicting scheduling, we could only catch the second half of this boys game. We do apologize for this inconvenience.
Sand Point has home-turf advantage and is out for blood in this game against the King Cove T-Jacks. Managing to slowly accumulate a lead throughout the entire game, they manage to hit an insurmountable lead in the 4th quarter and protect it with their restrictive defense.
