Feb. 26, 2014 - The Environmental Defense Fund (EDF) presented Senator Begich with their "Fishing Families Champion" award at a reception with Alaska fishermen and chefs. Senator Begich was thanked for his fight against Frankenfish and for his work to update the Magnuson-Stevens Fisheries Conservation and Management Act. Senator Begich spoke about the need to support families and small businesses in the fishing industry.
