Fishing for Area M will be open as scheduled for 36-hours beginning 6:00am, July 14th and closing at 6:00pm July 15th.
The important note is that certain sections of the Dolgoi Island Management Area will be restricted.
Regulations call for this to occur when and estimated harvest of 180,000 fish has occurred. So far less than 20,000 fish have been harvested in the 2018 salmon season.

The Alaska Department of Fish and Game has announced a second restricted opener for the final fishing period of June 2018. Seine and Drift gear types will be open for 40 hours beginning Monday, June 25 at 6:00am and closing 40-hours later at 10:00pm, June 26.
Set Gill Net gear types will be allowed to fish 40-hours beginning Wednesday, June 27 at 6:00am and closing Thursday, June 28 at 10:00pm

The Alaska Depart of Fish and Game has released their report with regulatory justification for its unprecedented restrictions for the Area M June Fishery.

In an unprecedented decision, the Regional Area Managers have restricted all gear types in Area M from fishing during the final 48 hours of the next two openings in June.
Seine and Drift Gears will open as schedule at 6:00am on Wednesday, June 20 and close Thursday, June 21 at 10:00pm – a 40 hour opening.
Set Gill Net will open as scheduled on Friday, June 22 at 6:00am and close on Saturday, June 23 at 10:00pm, another 40-hour opener.
The remaining openings in June will be potentially be also restricted and more announcements will follow. See the official announcement below.
