Press Release: AMHS Seeks Public Review of Summer 2016 Schedule

“Tustumena to sail the Southwest Route with two Aleutian chain trips per month. (but only one in June and September). The first chain trip is May 17. Old Harbor will receive one stop per month June to September. (6/6 OLD-KOD, 7-13 KOD-OLD, 8-15 OLD- KOD, 9-7 KOD-OLD). The last chain trip in September will leave a Homer-Kodiak service gap of one week since Kennicott is not available to back fill.”

The Sand Point Clinic will be closed for Alaska Day and will honor it with a half day the Friday before.
New After Hours Message for Sand Point Clinic
Starting tonight Oct. 8, 2015 the Sand Point Medical Clinic afterhours phone will have a message stating if you have an emergency please call 911.
Otherwise if you would like to talk to a nurse, please wait to be forward to the nurse line.
Teleconference for Licensed or Potential Foster Homes!
The Alaska Center for Resource Families will be hoding the telephonic foter paretn orientation for people who live too far from urban centers to attend onsite sessions.
If you are interested in attending please call 1-800-944-8766 code 22460#. The meeting will be held from noon to 1pm on Thursday, October 15th.
Alaska Natives Needed for Research Survey
A doctoral student is looking for 100 Alaska Natives to participate in a research study about the health care in Sand Point, Alaska. Your community leaders and EATS organization have approved this anonymous/confidential study. Your name, address and phone number WILL NOT be used in this study. In fact, the research asks you to not identify yourself. The survey has four demographic questions about you and is widely spaced to prevent your identity.
The survey has 23 questions, with six questions requesting you to add any personal experiences in the clinic which should tak you 15 to 20 minutes to complete. A $10 gratuity will be included for your participation. This study is designed to understand the medical needs of Sand Point; and to assist EATS in serving you better.
If you decide to participate in this study, you need to go to the clinic and ask for a sealed confidential envelope. No names will be taken. Principal investigator, Wendy Whitney FNP, Doctoral student, 907-381-6008, 801-541-2995.
