The Aleutians East Borough Assembly met for a special meeting on October 20th, 2020 in order to swear in new members as well as re-appropriate Covid related funds.
KSDP will host a School Board Forum for candidates for seats C and D on the Aleutians East Borough School District Board on Friday, October 2nd 2020 at 4pm
KSDP’s Austin Roof discussed the importance of the 2020 Census for majority native and rural communities in Alaska with Nicole Borromeo, the Executive Vice President and General Counsel for the Alaska Federation of Natives.
Completing the Census is quick, easy, and completely confidential. Please respond online at www.2020census.gov or by phone by calling 1-(844)-330-2020.
Failing to fill out the Census deprives your community of $3,500 per year. For a family of four this equates to almost $150,000 over 10 years.

At no additional cost to students and families of the Aleutians East Borough, the Aleutians East Borough School District has created a way for students to connect with their teachers and receive schoolwork; all without leaving their homes or connecting to the internet.
In accordance with the State and Federal guidelines for SMART START, the school district will be opening this fall. Amid uncertainty concerning schools reopening, this system provides the opportunity for students to immediately social distance should the situation surrounding COVID-19 worsen.
Some families will be provided with wireless access points to make this possible, all that will be required of them will be to have the access points connected to power.

The Aleutians East Borough Assembly met for a special meeting on May 28th, 2020 in order to go through usual business as well as important COVID-19 related items.

After a close first quarter where King Cove led by one basket, the T-Jacks managed to gradually build up momentum through the entirety of the game; stacking up points until they had an insurmountable lead on the Lynx.

Sand Point snags another methodical win against rivals King Cove to finish off this set and their regular season. Maintaining the narrowest of leads in just one point throughout the first quarter, they came into their own at the start of the second to gain and hold their lead all the way to the finish.
