The King Cove Rookies seem nearly unstoppable, running against their long time rivals here in Sand Point. With a commanding near-shutout in the oppressive first-quarter, the Rookies took control early and never looked back. Despite giving their all, the Sand Point Lady Eagles could not surmount the pure talent and dedication of this King Cove team.
Final Score: Sand Point Lady Eagles (31) Vs. King Cove Rookies (84)

The Sand Point Lady Eagles end their gauntlet run of 3A schools with a player down and still manage to put on an impressive showing despite not coming away with a victory against the hometown favorites; the Seward Lady Eagles. This was the last game for the Sand Point Girls during the Seahawk Invitational and the end of their 2020 road trip.
Final Score: Sand Point Lady Eagles (26) Vs. Seward Lady Seahawks (63) – Girls

On July 12th, Officer Tupper received a dispatch about a woman who was not breathing and that an ambulance was on its way. When he arrived at the scene, a woman reported that a 60-year old male had assaulted her. Upon investigation, officer Tupper noticed her neck was red, and there were several stray hairs in her hand. The witness stated that the attacker had walked into the room and proceeded to choke her, and this previously had happened a couple of days ago as well. Upon questioning, the accused male was found to be highly intoxicated, and after asking him to explain what happened several times he had conflicting stories, which determined he was lying. He was then placed under arrest for Domestic violence of the 4th degree, and was then transported to the police station. At the police station, he was read his rights, and then placed into Sand Point Jail without further incident.

Squaw Harbor from the air
The Squaw Harbor Cannery was located on Unga Island, one of the islands that composes the Aleutian Islands in Alaska. It was one of the canneries acquired by Pacific American Fisheries (PAF) in 1917 when demand for salmon increased during World War I.

Squaw Harbor
The cannery was last operated by Peter Pan Seafoods, Inc., which still maintains limited operations in Sand Point. Today, the former cannery is privately owned and home to a Bristol Bay fish tender operation.
Squaw Harbor is approximately seven miles from the Sand Point boat harbor and accessible only by boat. Inquire of the Sand Point Harbormaster for permission and transportation to visit the old cannery.
