Job Opening: Public Works Director
Summary of Job: Under the direction of the Mayor, the public works director plans, coordinates and implements all activities of the public works department including street maintenance and snow removal, airport oversight, water and sewer operations, landfill operations, buildings, and other duties as assigned by the mayor.

* High School Diploma
* Valid Alaska Drivers License and good driving record
* Min of five years of construction exp including either foreman or lead man
* min of five years exp, and proficiency in the safe operation of various pieces of heavy equipment including dozers, dump trucks, backhoes, end loaders, etc.
* Working knowledge of municipal public works departments including man power and equipment
* Oral and written communication skills
* Leaderships skills

Job Opening: Water & Wastewater Supervisor
Summary of Job: Under the direction of the Public Works Director, the water/sewer supervisor assumes full responsibility and authority of the city-owned water and wastewater systems – this includes the planning, coordinating and implementation of all activities of the water and wastewater programs and infrastructure. In addition, this position has primary responsibility for all repair and maintenance needs of the city water and wastewater infrastructure.

*Five years of exp in the water and wastewater field with appropriate certifications required by DEC
*Knowledge of pumps and meters
*Valid Alaska Drivers License and good driving record

King Cove Wellness Carnival
Eastern Aleutian Tribes King Cove Clinic is hosting a kids back o school wellness carnival. The carnival will be at King Cove Clinic on Saturday Aug 9th, from 2-4pm.
There will be carnival games, a teddy bear clinic, duck pond, survival suit races, and other fun activities. The clinic will be giving away free school supplies and door prizes including a grand prize of a bicycle donated by AC.
Island Wellness Retreat
There will be an Island Wellness Retreat beginning on August 7-10, 2014. Let Rayette Know if you are attending.
All community members welcome to attend all or parts of the workshops and workouts at no cost to you.
There will be daily boot camps, afternoon hikes, nutrition 101 education classes, grocery store tours, self care importance classes, overcoming cravings and emotional eating, and healthy meals.
